Every Fortnite Halloween Skin, 2017–2026: Fortnitemares by Year, Prices and Last Seen

Fortnite's Halloween line runs from Skull Trooper and Ghoul Trooper, first sold on 30 October 2017, to Fortnitemares 2026, which was live by 4 October 2026 with Five Nights at Freddy's, Freddy Krueger and a free quest outfit called Jack-a-Nape. In between sit roughly 165 Halloween outfits across nine earlier events. Most return to the shop each October, usually at 1,200 to 2,000 V-Bucks.

This archive is for collectors who want to know what exists, what it cost and whether it is buyable this week. If you only want this year's leaks, a news site will be faster. Shop dates come from the fnbr.co tracker, read on 10 October 2026, and "in the shop" means the 9 October 2026 Item Shop as returned by fortnite-api.com.

Fortnitemares 2026: what's in the shop and free now

Fortnitemares 2026 opened in Battle Royale with a "cursed cartridge" story and Five Nights at Freddy's animatronic bosses, per the in-game news feed Epic published by 4 October 2026. Its first Halloween outfits reached the shop on 3 October. Epic's own event page could not be read for this guide, so we can't confirm the official end date. fortnite.gg lists the free Fortnitemares quest rewards as ending on 1 November 2026, and the Chapter 7 Season 4 pass is reported to end on 31 October.

The 9 October 2026 shop was full of horror. Freddy Krueger (1,600 V-Bucks, or 2,300 for the A Nightmare on Elm Street Bundle) and the four Five Nights at Freddy's animatronics were there: Freddy Fazbear, Chica the Chicken and Bonnie the Rabbit at 1,500, Foxy The Pirate at 1,600, or all four in a 4,500-V-Bucks bundle. Jack the Clown from Halloween Horror Nights was 1,500. A new Lost Dolls trio (Mineko, Dollie and Pippa Pinns, 1,200 each or 2,300 together) sat beside the returning classics.

The free outfit this year is Jack-a-Nape, a clockwork circus chimp. fortnite.gg lists it as the reward for 26 Fortnitemares quests, with new quests added each week. The quest pages and Epic's post were not readable to us, so check the in-game Quests tab for the exact requirement before you plan around it.

Every Halloween event by year

Fortnitemares has run every autumn since 2017, and it has crept earlier. The first event opened on 26 October 2017. The 2021 Cube Queen edition started on 5 October, and the 2025 one on 9 October. The dates below come from the community wiki's event pages, which are secondary sources. Epic's own posts for past years could not be read for this guide.

The number of new Halloween outfits peaked in 2021, the year the event mixed in licensed outfits such as Rick Grimes, Chris Redfield and The Batman Who Laughs. The 2023 edition was the smallest since 2017 by this count, but it gave the shop Michael Myers and Jack Skellington. Counts are from the community wiki's per-event cosmetic tables and include licensed outfits sold during each event.

Halloween skins with price and last shop date

The table lists the Halloween outfits people search for most, one or two per year, with fnbr.co's last-seen date. "Shop days" counts every day an outfit was listed. The pattern is plain: almost everything returns in October, and the outfits that skip a year are usually licensed ones.

Two rows need a note. fnbr.co's page for Ash Williams still showed 11 October 2025 as its last date, but fortnite-api.com's 9 October 2026 shop listed him at 1,800 V-Bucks, so the tracker had not caught up yet. Frankenstein's Monster is the longest-missing outfit in the table: 20 shop days, the last on 1 November 2022.

What a Halloween outfit costs in real money

Most Halloween outfits sit at 1,500 V-Bucks, which is awkward at the US pack sizes in force since 19 March 2026. Two $8.99 packs give 1,600 V-Bucks for $17.98 and leave 100 over. Taken pro rata from the $22.99 pack of 2,400, the same outfit works out to $14.37. The 1,200-V-Bucks outfits, such as Skull Ranger, Skeletara and the Lost Dolls trio, cost two small packs or about $11.50 from the larger one.

The 9 October 2026 bundles change the maths. The Five Nights at Freddy's Bundle is 4,500 V-Bucks, which is exactly the $36.99 pack and saves 1,600 V-Bucks against buying the four animatronics separately (6,100). The Mystery Inc. Bundle of Daphne Blake, Fred Jones and Velma Dinkley is 3,800 against 4,500 bought one by one. The A Nightmare on Elm Street Bundle and the Lost Dolls Bundle are both 2,300, so each fits inside the $22.99 pack with 100 V-Bucks spare. The V-Bucks pricing guide has the full pack table.

The originals: Skull Trooper and Ghoul Trooper

Skull Trooper and Ghoul Trooper were the first Halloween outfits, sold for 1,500 V-Bucks each from 30 October 2017, during Battle Royale's first Fortnitemares. They are not hard to get. Skull Trooper has 142 shop days and Ghoul Trooper 88, and both were in the 9 October 2026 shop, where a Skull Trooper Bundle cost 2,300 V-Bucks. Owning one from 2017 only changes the purchase date in your locker, since anyone can buy the same outfit when it returns.

If you want one this month, this is the decision point. Buy it while it is listed, or wait for next October, when both have returned in most years. If you need V-Bucks for it, a gift card from Eneba or CDKeys redeems the same as one from Epic. Match the card region to your account first. Both are affiliate links; a purchase through them may pay us a commission.

Horror collabs: Freddy Krueger, Michael Myers, Ghost Face and more

Licensed horror arrived in force in 2021 with Rick Grimes and Frankenstein's Monster, then became the event's centre. Ash Williams (2022), Michael Myers and Jack Skellington (2023), Leatherface and Edward Scissorhands (2024), and Ghost Face, Jason, Art the Clown and the Scooby-Doo gang (2025) all launched in October. Freddy Krueger, asked about for years, finally reached the shop on 3 October 2026.

Licensed outfits come back less reliably than Epic's own. Michael Myers has not been listed since 15 February 2025, and Alan Wake since 25 October 2024, while Epic's own Skull Ranger and Dark Bomber have 85 and 96 shop days respectively. If a horror collab you want is in the shop now, treat that listing as the one to catch. The collab skins guide explains how licensed series rotate.

Free Halloween quest skins

Fortnitemares gave away an outfit through quests in 2025 and does so again in 2026, and the reward is time-limited. In 2025 it was Pig the Butcher, which fnbr.co lists as a Fortnitemares Quests reward with no shop history. In 2026 it is Jack-a-Nape. A free quest outfit has no shop route afterwards, so if you miss the window, you miss it until Epic decides otherwise.

Be wary of anything that offers a Halloween outfit "free" outside the game. Halloween quest outfits unlock in the game itself, and a site that asks for your Epic login to deliver one is after the account. The skin rarity guide explains why these outfits carry the tiers they do.

When Halloween skins return

Epic publishes no return schedule, but the record is consistent. Most of the outfits in the table had been in the shop since October 2025, and most returns cluster in October. Our catalog files each one under the tier it launched at, which is the best guide to what a returning outfit will cost.

• Epic's own Halloween outfits (Skull Trooper, Ghoul Trooper, Skull Ranger, Dark Bomber) return most Octobers, and often in summer too.
• Licensed outfits depend on the licence. Michael Myers and Alan Wake have both skipped at least one October.
• Free quest outfits like Pig the Butcher have not been sold in the shop.
• The shop rotates at 00:00 UTC, so "in the 9 Oct shop" does not guarantee the 10 Oct shop.

Edge cases worth knowing

• Dark Series recolours count as Halloween stock. Dark Bomber (2018) and Dark Ruby (2024) are both Fortnitemares outfits, and Dark Ruby was in the 9 October 2026 shop at 1,200 V-Bucks, or 1,400 as a bundle.
• Not every Halloween outfit was sold in the shop. Andy Fangerson (2024) came from the Brick or Treat LEGO Pass, per fnbr.co, and pass rewards follow their own return rules, covered in the Battle Pass guide.
• Trackers lag. On 10 October 2026 fnbr.co still showed Foxy The Pirate as unreleased and Ash Williams as last seen in 2025, although both were in fortnite-api.com's 9 October shop. When the two disagree, trust the live shop.
• Prices are per listing, not per tier. Epic removed rarity labels in April 2024, and a returning outfit can come back in a different bundle at a different total.
