How we ranked the best Fortnite gliders

This is an editorial ranking. In October 2026 we read the glider tab of fortnite.gg's community vote ranking (names and order only) and the best-glider guides from Gamers Decide, Sportskeeda, Hotspawn and EarlyGame, and kept the gliders that place well across them. Ties were broken by availability: a glider you can still buy ranks above an equal one you cannot. There are no play-tests or usage figures behind it, because Epic publishes none.

Prices, shop dates and shop counts come from fnbr.co, and rarity, set, introduction season, styles and the in-game descriptions from fortnite-api.com, both read on 28 October 2026. Where a glider was sold, the dates below are for the glider as a separate item, and the season it was introduced is given separately.

The best Fortnite gliders, ranked

1. Coral Cruiser

Coral Cruiser is the clearest number one of any list here: it leads the community vote, tops one guide's list of 25 best gliders and places high on the others. The reason most give is the coral buddies that sing along as you glide. It is also easy to get: a Rare from the Fish Food set, introduced in Chapter 1 Season 7, it costs 800 V-Bucks and has been in the shop 84 times since December 2018, most recently on 4 October 2026.

2. Astroworld Cyclone

Astroworld Cyclone is the Icon Series glider from the Travis Scott set, and one community ranking puts it first among the best gliders. It is second in the current community vote too, which ties it firmly to the Astronomical concert in Chapter 2 Season 2, the event it was given out at. That is the problem: it was an event reward and has never been sold, so anyone who missed that event cannot get it. It sits second here on consensus, not availability.

3. One Shot

One Shot is a plain umbrella with the in-game line 'Assassin's choice,' unlocked through the John Wick Wick's Bounty challenges in Chapter 1 Season 9. It places second in one community ranking and in the current vote's top ten, and guides like its simple, clean deploy; competitive players still pick it, as our sweaty skins guide notes. It is a Common item that has never been sold, and it pairs with the Gold Token back bling from the same set.

4. The Rezzbrella

The Rezzbrella is an umbrella earned by winning a match of Reload, introduced in Chapter 5 Season 3 with the in-game line 'Get back in the action.' One guide ranks it second of its 25 best gliders for an animation that suggests both an elimination and a reboot, and it is eighth in the community vote. Because it is earned by winning rather than bought, it signals skill in a way shop gliders do not, and it has never been in the Item Shop.

5. Needle Dropper

Needle Dropper is a glider from the Retro Redux set that plays music as you drop, which is why the guides call it out as one of the best gliders. It was on page 3 of the Chapter 4 Season 2 Battle Pass, with two styles, Needle Dropper and Hidden Track, and its in-game line is 'All the way to Number One.' It ranks eleventh in the community vote. As a Battle Pass reward it has never been sold, so it stays with that season's pass owners.

6. Suit Surfer

Suit Surfer is Gambit's glider from the Marvel Series Rogue & Gambit set, introduced in Chapter 3 Season 1, with the line 'This Ace is wild.' One guide says it shows up often in pro lobbies and that its simple shape makes landings easy to time; another likes its contrail and surfing animation. It is twelfth in the community vote. It is one of the best gliders to buy: 800 V-Bucks, in the shop 69 times since February 2022, most recently on 10 August 2026.

7. Magnetic Steps

Magnetic Steps is Magneto's glider from the Marvel Series, earned through the Magneto quests in Chapter 5 Season 3. One guide ranks it third of its 25 best gliders because it forms a staircase as you glide down, one of very few gliders with that animation, and it is fourteenth in the community vote. Its in-game line is 'Control of the elements means that you can descend in style.' As a quest reward it has never been sold.

8. Nimbus Cloud (Kintoun)

Nimbus Cloud (Kintoun) is Goku's flying cloud from the Dragon Ball collaboration, introduced in Chapter 3 Season 3. One community ranking puts it third, and guides praise how closely it matches the anime, but the current community vote has it near two hundredth, which keeps it out of our top five. It costs 800 V-Bucks and has been in the shop 35 times since August 2022, but the most recent was 9 August 2025, so it has been away for over a year.

9. Silver Surfer's Surfboard

Silver Surfer's Surfboard is the Marvel Series board from the Silver Surfer set, introduced in Chapter 2 Season 4, with the line 'The only way to surf a solar flare.' One community ranking puts it fourth among the best gliders, and one guide notes it was one of the first with a surfing animation. It is also one of the most available: 800 V-Bucks, in the shop 114 times since August 2020, most recently on 2 June 2026.

10. Holographic

Holographic is the Chapter 1 Season 9 Victory Umbrella, earned by winning a match that season, with the line 'Neo Tilted's finest.' Guides like its holographic deploy animation, one community ranking puts it seventh, and it is thirtieth in the current vote, which makes it one of the best umbrellas on record. Like every Victory Umbrella it was never sold, so it is a quiet badge of a win in that season.

11. Petercopter

Petercopter is the Family Guy glider, a quest reward in Chapter 5 Season 1, with the line 'How can you afford these things?' One guide picks it for its recognisable laugh, one community ranking has it ninth, and it sits in the current vote's top ninety. It was earned rather than sold and has never been in the Item Shop, so it belongs to the players who did those quests.

12. Comet Crasher

Comet Crasher lets you ride a runaway comet, its in-game line being 'Hitch a ride on a runaway comet.' It is an Epic from the Ancient Voyager set, the tier-90 reward of the Chapter 2 Season 3 Battle Pass. One guide ranks it tenth of its best gliders for its eye-catching contrail, another names it among the most popular gliders of Chapter 2, and it is in the community top fifty. It has never been sold.

13. Pantheon Ranker

Pantheon Ranker is a Ranked reward from Chapter 5 Season 2, and its eight styles follow the ranked ladder: Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Diamond, Elite, Champion and Unreal. One guide ranks it sixth of its best gliders because the colour shows your tier, and it is in the community top forty. It cannot be bought, which is the point: the style you show is the rank you reached.

14. Bombs Away!

Bombs Away! puts you on a literal bomb, which is the reason guides give for ranking it among the best gliders. It is an Epic from the Short Fuse set, the tier-26 reward of the Chapter 2 Season 2 Battle Pass, with Default, Ghost and Shadow styles, and it is twentieth in the community vote. Its in-game line is 'Ride the shockwave.' As a pass reward it has never been in the Item Shop.

15. Thunder & Lightning

Thunder & Lightning is an Epic glider from the King of Olympus set, on page 9 of the Chapter 5 Season 2 Battle Pass. One guide ranks it eleventh of its best gliders because it makes you feel like you are riding lightning, and it is in the community top sixty. Its in-game line is 'Bring the storm.' It has never been sold, so it stays with that pass.

16. Downpour

Downpour is the Chapter 2 Season 1 Victory Umbrella, as its own description states. Guides pick it as one of the best umbrellas because it looks like water pouring off the canopy, and it sits in the community top fifty. It was a reward for winning a match in that season, so the only way to have it is to have won then; it has never been sold.

17. Discovery

Discovery is the Epic glider from the Galaxy set, introduced in Chapter 1 Season 6, with the line 'Explore the galaxy.' One guide notes it was exclusive to the Galaxy outfit's Samsung promotion, and it is fiftieth in the community vote. It came with that outfit and has never been sold on its own. It is one of the best gliders for collectors rather than one you can plan to own.

18. Appa

Appa is Aang's sky bison from the Avatar collaboration, introduced in Chapter 5 Season 2, with the line 'Aang's faithful sky bison companion.' One guide ranks it fifth of its best gliders for how detailed and faithful it is to the show; community voters are far less keen and place it just past two hundredth, which is why it sits mid-table here. It costs 1,200 V-Bucks and has been in the shop 20 times since November 2024, but not since 1 July 2025.

19. Equalizer

Equalizer is a Rare glider from the Twin Turntables set, a reward from the 14 Days of Fortnite event in Chapter 1 Season 7. Its in-game line is 'Soar through the soundscape.' One community ranking puts it eighth among the best gliders, and it is in the current vote's top seventy. As an event reward it has never been sold.

20. Laser Chomp

Laser Chomp is a Legendary shark glider from the Chomp set, introduced in Chapter 1 Season 5, with the line 'Laser-guided. Razor-sharp. Slippery.' One community ranking puts it fifth among the best gliders, and a history list names it among the most popular of Chapter 1. It is still sold: 1,500 V-Bucks, in the shop 57 times since July 2018, most recently on 26 June 2026.

21. Frostburn

Frostburn is a Legendary glider from the Omega Harbinger set, introduced in Chapter 4 Season OG, where it was on page 7 of that pass. One community ranking puts it sixth among the best gliders and describes it as a frost-dragon design that nods to Ragnarok from the Chapter 1 Season 5 Battle Pass. Its in-game line is 'Awakened anew.' It has never been sold.

22. Commander's Descent

Commander's Descent is a Legendary glider from the Dominion's Dawn set, on page 14 of the Chapter 4 Season 1 Battle Pass. One guide ranks it sixth of its best gliders because the drop-in animation looks like walking down a staircase, and says it works with any outfit. Its in-game line is 'No entrance is too grand for you.' It has never been sold.

23. Goblin Glider

Goblin Glider is the Green Goblin's board from the Marvel Series, introduced in Chapter 3 Season 1, with the line 'Perfect for dragging a friend on a trip around the city.' One guide ranks it eighth of its best gliders because you stand on it the way the Green Goblin does, and a history list names it the top glider of Chapter 3. It costs 800 V-Bucks and has been in the shop 80 times since January 2022, most recently on 23 October 2025.

24. Wintry Whirligig

Wintry Whirligig is an Epic from the Winterfest 2022 set, given as a Winterfest present in Chapter 4 Season 1, with the line 'A cracked spin on festive flight.' One guide ranks it first of its best gliders, calling it large, loud and hard to miss, while community voters put it just outside their top hundred. As a Winterfest gift, it has never been in the Item Shop.

25. Fist of Doom

Fist of Doom is Doctor Doom's glider from the Marvel Series, earned through the Doom quests in Chapter 5 Season 4, with two styles, Fist of Doom and Pandora's Fist of Doom. One guide ranks it seventh of its best gliders for the way you stand on the fist, and it is in the community top seventy-five. Its in-game line is 'Bring doom from on high.' It has never been sold.

26. Mandala Disc

Mandala Disc is Doctor Strange's shield turned surfboard, as its in-game description says, from the Marvel Series, on page 10 of the Chapter 3 Season 2 Battle Pass. One guide ranks it ninth of its best gliders because its deploy animation is unlike any other, though community voters place it lower, inside their top one hundred and sixty. It has never been sold.

27. Cloud Llama Board

Cloud Llama Board is a Legendary surfboard from the Cosmic Summer quests in Chapter 2 Season 7, with the line 'Surf the skies.' Its five styles include Cloud Coral Board, Cloudy Cat Board, Cloud Crew Board and Golden Wave. Guides pick it as one of the best gliders for its surfing animation and summery feel, and it sits just outside the community top hundred. It has never been sold.

28. Royale Dragon

Royale Dragon is a Legendary dragon glider from Chapter 1 Season 3, with the line 'Ride the dragon!' A history list ranks it the most popular glider of Chapter 1, while noting that large gliders cover a lot of the screen. It is the most current pick here: 2,000 V-Bucks, in the shop 57 times since February 2018, as recently as 27 October 2026. 29. Kang and Kodos

Kang and Kodos is the Simpsons glider from Chapter 6 Season 5, and it is fourth in the community vote. It was the reward for linking a MyDisney account to an Epic account, an offer that ended on 28 February 2026, and it has never been sold, so it can no longer be claimed. Its in-game line jokes, 'Can you believe it Kodos? They left us out of the Battle Pass.' The older guides predate it, so it rests on the vote alone, which is why it sits this low.

30. Queen's Procession

Queen's Procession is a Legendary glider from the Long Live the Queen set, earned through the Cube Queen quests in Chapter 2 Season 8, with three styles, including Obliterator and Islandbane. A history list names it the top glider of Chapter 2, while community voters place it in the one hundred and sixties. Its in-game line is 'Make way for the queen.' It has never been sold.

31. Mako

Mako is the Chapter 1 Season 1 shark glider, with the line 'Soar through the air like the mighty shark!' One guide picks it for nostalgia and its simple, sleek look. It cost 500 V-Bucks and was in the shop on exactly one day, 2 January 2018, the shortest shop history of any glider here. It closes the list of the best Fortnite gliders as the collector's pick rather than a practical one.

Which of the best Fortnite gliders can you still get?

The gliders here that have been sold in the Item Shop can only be bought when they rotate in: the shop resets every day at 00:00 UTC, and the dates above are history, not a schedule. Royale Dragon, Coral Cruiser, Suit Surfer, Laser Chomp and Silver Surfer's Surfboard have the most recent dates. Use the Item Shop chip on the board to see them all.

Victory Umbrellas are the exception that is always open: each season adds its own, so a win this season earns this season's umbrella. Ranked and quest gliders work the same way while their season runs, and the free skins guide covers the free rewards you can still claim. Battle Pass, event and promotion gliders from past seasons cannot be bought at all.
