How we ranked the best Fortnite back blings

This is an editorial ranking. In October 2026 we read the back bling tab of fortnite.gg's community vote ranking (names and order only) and the best-back-bling guides from Gamers Decide and Sportskeeda, and kept the items that place well across them. Ties were broken by availability: a back bling you can still buy ranks above an equal one you cannot. There are no play-tests or usage figures behind it, because Epic publishes none.

Prices, shop dates and shop counts come from fnbr.co, and rarity, set, introduction season, styles and the in-game descriptions from fortnite-api.com, both read on 28 October 2026. Many back blings were first sold inside an outfit bundle and only later on their own, so the shop dates below are for the back bling as a separate item, and the season it was introduced is given separately.

The best Fortnite back blings, ranked

1. Crewmate

Crewmate is the best Fortnite back bling by consensus, because it is the one piece near the top of every ranking we read, and one guide's vote-based top five puts it first. It is the little Among Us crewmate, introduced in Chapter 3 Season 3, with ten colour styles from red and blue to brown and purple, so it suits almost any outfit. It is also easy to get: it costs 500 V-Bucks on its own and has been in the shop 23 times since September 2025, most recently on 17 September 2026.

2. Black Shield

The Black Shield came with the Black Knight outfit, a Chapter 1 Season 2 Battle Pass reward, as part of the Fort Knights set, and it has never been sold on its own. It is one of the best back blings for what it says about the player carrying it, and the guides single out its design. It still sits in the community top five. The catch is simple: if you did not earn it that season, you cannot get it now.

3. Galactic Disc

Galactic Disc came with the Galaxy outfit, a Samsung device promotion, and the game data dates it to Chapter 1 Season 6. It is one of the best Fortnite back blings for being both good-looking and hard to own: every source we read places it high, and it has never been in the Item Shop. Its in-game line is 'Light-years ahead of the rest.' If you want a galaxy look without the history, Nucleus, further down, is the closest piece that is still sold.

4. The Child

The Child is a pet, so it rides in the back bling slot as an animated companion rather than a static prop, and it is the best pet on this list. It was the tier-100 reward of the Chapter 2 Season 5 Battle Pass, in The Mandalorian set, and it has never been sold. One guide ranks it second of all back blings, and it holds a top-five community place. If you missed that pass, Grogu, further down, is the version you can still buy.

5. Wilson

Wilson, the Icon Series back bling from the Rubius set, has the highest score in the community vote for the best back bling, ahead of every older classic. It was introduced in Chapter 5 Season 4, and its in-game line is 'Now Wilson will be eternal.' Unlike most of the top ten, it is easy to buy: it costs 1,000 V-Bucks on its own and has been in the shop 40 times since September 2024, most recently on 29 August 2026. The older best-of guides all predate it.

6. Spectral Spine

Spectral Spine is a rib-cage and spine piece from the Cryptic set, introduced in Chapter 1 Season 9, with Default and Orange styles. One guide compares its eerie look to Susanoo from Naruto, and it sits in the community top fifteen. It is one of the best back blings for a small budget: it has been sold on its own at 300 V-Bucks since July 2026, with 7 shop dates between 6 and 12 July 2026. For a back bling that old, that is an unusually easy way in.

7. Shattered Wing

Shattered Wing is a pair of butterfly wings broken into shards, from the Broken Light set, introduced in Chapter 1 Season 8. One guide links it to the butterfly event of that era, and it is in the community top ten. Wing back blings are common now; this one is still among the best back blings because the wings look cracked rather than clean. It has been sold on its own at 300 V-Bucks since July 2026, with 6 shop dates, most recently on 17 September 2026.

8. Merry Munchkin

Merry Munchkin is a gingerbread pet from the Gingerbread set, a reward from the 14 Days of Fortnite event in Chapter 1 Season 7, with the in-game line 'Not so sweet.' One guide names it the best pet back bling of all for its attitude and animations, and it sits in the community top thirty. It has never been in the Item Shop, so it stays with the players who earned it during that event.

9. Rocket

Rocket is a Marvel Series pet: Rocket Raccoon riding along in the back bling slot, with the in-game line 'Just don't call him a raccoon, pal.' It came from the Groot Awakening challenges in Chapter 2 Season 4, so it was earned rather than bought, and it has never been sold. Guides rank it among the best pets for its colour scheme, and it sits just outside the community top ten. Sapling Groot, a Battle Pass reward from the same season, is the obvious pairing.

10. Cactus Jack

Cactus Jack is the Icon Series back bling from the Travis Scott set, introduced in Chapter 2 Season 2, the season of the Astronomical concert. It comes with the Travis Scott outfit rather than as an item of its own, and it has never been sold separately. It still ranks among the best back blings in the community top ten, ahead of most Battle Pass classics. If you own that outfit you already have it; if not, it depends on that outfit's bundle returning.

11. Gold Token

Gold Token is the John Wick back bling, unlocked through the Wick's Bounty challenges in Chapter 1 Season 9, with the in-game line 'Out of unity comes strength.' It is a single gold coin, so it stays small on screen, and that understated look is why players who dislike bulky back blings rate it among the best. It is in the community top ten. As a challenge reward it was never sold, and it pairs with One Shot, the glider from the same challenges.

12. Sapling Groot

Sapling Groot is a small sapling-stage Groot from the Marvel Series, the tier-32 reward of the Chapter 2 Season 4 Battle Pass. One guide ranks it fourth because it is cute and takes up little screen space, and another names it among the best back blings of Chapter 2. Its in-game line, 'Don't forget to water your Groot,' sets the tone. It has never been in the Item Shop, so it has stayed exclusive to that pass.

13. Bonesy

Bonesy is the dog pet from the Chapter 1 Season 6 Battle Pass, at tier 12, with Tan, White and Mocha styles. One guide calls it the first pet back bling and puts it in its top ten for its animations, and it holds a place in the community top forty. Its in-game line is 'A loyal companion.' It is one of the best pets for animation, and like the other pass pets of that season it has never been sold in the Item Shop.

14. R2-D2

R2-D2 is a compact astromech droid from the Star Wars Series, introduced in Chapter 3 Season 4, with the in-game line 'Plucky astromech droid.' Guides like that it covers little of the screen, and it sits in the community top forty. It is one of the best back blings for small-screen clutter, and it is buyable when Star Wars items rotate in: it has been sold on its own at 600 V-Bucks since May 2026, with 4 shop dates between 4 and 7 May 2026. Few licensed back blings suit as many outfits.

15. Ice-Blasted Snow Crunchem

Ice-Blasted Snow Crunchem is a frozen-drink cup from the Refreshing Beverage set, earned through the No Sweat Summer quests in Chapter 3 Season 3. Its six part styles swap the flavour, among them Cuddle Cerise, Meowscles' Tail, Nana Frost, Fishy Flurry and Goopy Guff. A 2022 community-vote list of the best back blings put it second, ahead of the Black Shield. As a quest reward it was never sold, so it now belongs to players who did those quests.

16. Mark of the Slayer

Mark of the Slayer is the Doom Slayer's back bling, a Gaming Legends Series piece from the Ultra-Nightmare set on page 5 of the Chapter 4 Season 1 Battle Pass. One guide names it the best Gaming Series back bling for its glowing red Doom symbol, and it ranks around twentieth in the community vote. Its in-game line is 'A warning to all demons.' It has never been in the Item Shop, so it stays with that season's pass owners.

17. Nanner Buddy

Nanner Buddy is a stuffed Peely plush with two styles, the default and Tropical, from the Fortnite Crew pack of July 2023, in Chapter 4 Season 3. One guide ranks it the best back bling of Chapter 4 for its cute face, and it sits in the community top forty. Its in-game line is 'Stuffed with love.' As a Crew item it has never been sold in the shop, but it is one of the friendliest-looking back blings in the game.

18. Black Hole

Black Hole is a Legendary back bling from the Zero Point set, introduced in Chapter 2 Season 1, with the in-game line 'One singularity sensation.' One guide names it among the five best back blings of Chapter 2 for its miniature black hole, and it is in the community top fifty. It is one of the easier classics to pick up now: it has been sold on its own at 400 V-Bucks since July 2026, with 9 shop dates, most recently on 16 August 2026.

19. Scales

Scales is the dragon pet from the Chapter 1 Season 6 Battle Pass, at tier 43, with Blue, Pink and Black styles; the game data notes that the Pink style unlocked at tier 74. A 2020 top five put Scales first among the best pets. Community voters are cooler on it today and rank it well outside their top hundred, which is why it sits mid-table here. Like Bonesy, it was a pass reward and has never been sold.

20. Reboot Replica

Reboot Replica rides with the Reboot Man outfit, a Crew Series piece introduced in Chapter 6 Season 4 in the Supernova Academy set. It is the best Fortnite back bling here for progression: six progressive styles run from the default through Lightwave, Auric, Phase, Rimebound and Cosmic Legacy. It ranks ninth in the community vote, above almost every classic, and it has never been sold on its own. It is new enough that none of the older guides cover it, which makes it one of the more current picks here.

21. Rainbow Clover

Rainbow Clover is an Epic back bling from the Green Clover set that comes with the Lucky Rider outfit, introduced in Chapter 1 Season 8. Its in-game line is 'Three leaf fashion.' It ranks fourteenth in the community vote, higher than many licensed pieces, and its simple shape and bright colours make it one of the best back blings to pair. It has never been sold on its own, so it depends on Lucky Rider returning to the shop.

22. Royale Shield

Royale Shield is the Rare knight's shield from the Fort Knights set, introduced in Chapter 1 Season 2 alongside the Royale Knight outfit, with the in-game line 'A royal shield.' One guide calls it an OG back bling that still stands out in a lobby. Community voters rate it below the Black Shield and the Red Shield from the same set, which is why it sits behind the Black Shield here. It has never been sold on its own.

23. Wolfpack

Wolfpack is a sheathed katana from the Full Moon set, a Legendary back bling that comes with the Dire outfit, introduced in Chapter 1 Season 6. Guides like the samurai look it gives an outfit, and it holds a place in the community top eighty. Its in-game line is 'Packing extra bite.' It has never been sold on its own, so the way to it is through Dire.

24. Proto-Adamantium Shield

The Proto-Adamantium Shield is Captain America's shield, a Marvel Series back bling from the Avengers set, introduced in Chapter 2 Season 3. Guides pick it for its bold colours, though community voters place it lower, in the low hundreds. It comes with the Captain America outfit and has never been sold on its own. Among the best back blings with a shield shape, it is the one most people recognise at a glance.

25. Red Shield

Red Shield is the Red Knight's Legendary shield from the Fort Knights set, introduced in Chapter 1 Season 3, and it ranks in the community top thirty. It is also the cheapest way into the knight-shield look: it has been sold on its own at 300 V-Bucks since April 2026 and has been in the shop 29 times since then, most recently on 14 September 2026. If the Black Shield is out of reach, this is the best back bling for the look that you can actually buy.

26. PAC-MAN

PAC-MAN is a Gaming Legends Series back bling, introduced in Chapter 3 Season 2, with the in-game line 'Respect the classics.' Its five particle styles switch between Pac-Man and the four ghosts, Blinky, Pinky, Inky and Clyde, and it sits in the community top twenty-five. It is one of the best Fortnite back blings for a collab that keeps returning: it costs 500 V-Bucks and has been in the shop 31 times since June 2022, most recently on 25 September 2026.

27. Nucleus

Nucleus is a Legendary back bling from the Galaxy Pack set, introduced in Chapter 2 Season 3, with the in-game line 'A whole galaxy to-go.' One guide ranks it fifth of all back blings for its striking spherical design. It is the most accessible galaxy-themed piece here: it has been sold on its own at 500 V-Bucks since April 2026 and has been in the shop 31 times since then, most recently on 22 October 2026. For players who missed the Galactic Disc, it is the closest match.

28. Isaac

Isaac is a Gaming Legends Series back bling from the Isaac Unbound set, introduced in Chapter 6 Season 5, with the in-game line 'Save yourself.' It ranks eighteenth in the community vote for the best back bling, ahead of many older classics, and it is too new for the older best-of guides. It is easy to buy: it costs 600 V-Bucks on its own and has been in the shop 18 times since September 2025, most recently on 2 October 2026.

29. Grogu

Grogu is the Star Wars Series back bling from The Mandalorian set, introduced in Chapter 5 Season 3, with the in-game line 'Grogu wants more cookies, please.' It is the buyable answer to The Child pet higher up: it costs 600 V-Bucks on its own and has been in the shop 27 times since August 2024, most recently on 17 August 2026. Community voters rate the older pet higher, which is why Grogu sits lower among the best back blings here.

30. No Ghost

No Ghost is an Uncommon back bling from the Ghostbusters set, unlocked through the Ghostbusters: Afterlife quests in Chapter 2 Season 8, with the in-game line 'Welcome to Rust City.' It ranks seventeenth in the community vote, high for a free quest reward, and above many paid picks among the best back blings. It has never been in the Item Shop, so it stays with the players who did those quests.

31. Zero

Zero is an Epic back bling from The Pumpkin King set, introduced in Chapter 4 Season 4, with the in-game line 'Loyal companion who always has your back.' It sits in the community top thirty-five, and it is timely around Halloween: it has been sold on its own at 600 V-Bucks since September 2026, with 4 shop dates between 28 September and 1 October 2026. Among seasonal back blings that are still sold, it is one of the best.

32. Astroworld

Astroworld is the second Icon Series back bling from the Travis Scott set, introduced in Chapter 2 Season 2, with three particle styles: Default, Blue and Fiery Orange. Its in-game line is 'My Planet, My Home.' It comes with the Astro Jack outfit and has never been sold on its own, and it sits in the community top forty. It closes the list of the best Fortnite back blings and pairs with the Astroworld Cyclone glider from the same set.

Which of the best Fortnite back blings can you still get?

The back blings here that are sold on their own in the Item Shop can be bought only when they rotate in: the shop resets every day at 00:00 UTC, and the dates above are history, not a schedule. Use the Item Shop chip on the board to see them. Prices run from 300 V-Bucks (Spectral Spine, Shattered Wing and Red Shield) to 1,000 (Wilson).

Others come only with an outfit, so they return when that outfit's bundle does. The Battle Pass, quest and event pieces cannot be bought at all. The free skins guide lists the rewards you can still claim without spending V-Bucks, and the Fortnite Crew guide explains the monthly packs that items like Nanner Buddy came from.

Matching a back bling to your outfit

The best back bling is usually the one that keeps to the outfit's palette: pass outfits make this easy because their back blings were designed with them. Competitive players often go the other way and wear none, because a large back bling extends what other players can see; the sweaty skins guide covers that loadout. For the outfits themselves, see our ranking of the best Fortnite skins.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best back bling in Fortnite?

By consensus, the best Fortnite back bling is Crewmate: it places near the top of every ranking we read in October 2026, and it is still sold at 500 V-Bucks. If you count only the community vote, Wilson leads; if you count history, the Black Shield is the classic answer.

Do pets count as back blings?

Yes. Pets such as The Child, Bonesy, Scales, Rocket and Merry Munchkin are equipped in the back bling slot, and the community back bling ranking includes them, so this list does too.

Can you still get the Black Shield or the Galactic Disc?

No. The Black Shield came with the Black Knight outfit in the Chapter 1 Season 2 Battle Pass, and the Galactic Disc came with the Galaxy outfit; neither has ever been sold on its own. The Red Shield (300 V-Bucks) and Nucleus (500 V-Bucks) are the closest looks that are still sold.

How much does a back bling cost in Fortnite?

Among the back blings on this list that are sold on their own, prices run from 300 V-Bucks (Red Shield, Spectral Spine, Shattered Wing) to 1,000 V-Bucks (Wilson). Many others are only available with their outfit, through a Battle Pass or as a quest reward.

Do back blings give an advantage?

No. Back blings are cosmetic and do not change any stats or the hitbox. Some players run small ones or none at all because they prefer a cleaner view.

Which of the best Fortnite back blings were in the shop most recently?

Nucleus (22 October 2026), Isaac (2 October), Zero (1 October), PAC-MAN (25 September), and Crewmate and Shattered Wing (17 September). The Item Shop rotates daily, so none is guaranteed on a given day.
